The Highways Agency (HA) currently maintains, operates and develops three traffic databases and associated applications. The Traffic Flow Data System (TRADS) holds information on traffic flows at sites on the network. The Journey Time Database (JTDB) system holds information on journey times and traffic flows for links of the network. These two databases are known collectively as the HA Traffic Information System (HATRIS).

As well as the two main databases of HATRIS there is also a further database entitled the Manual Classified Count Database (MCC). The purpose of the MCC database is to store data for all manual counts carried out for the HA.
